[Q] Difference between CM7 and i9000 based 2.2 ROMs

I thought it might be helpful for those of us considering flashing CM7 if we answered the question "What is the difference between CM7 and i9000 based ROMs?"

I wasn't really thinking 2.3 vs 2.2 specific features (like the UI tweaks) but more applications that require Samsung's touchwiz framework or features specific to CM.

For me, I would miss the pulldown music controls that are in i9000 based roms but would enjoy things like incognito mode in the browser in CM7.

I have been wondering this also. Why is CM7 so amazing? Not trying to be rude I am really curious
