I have 2.2, PnP, and Voodoo installed all for Showcase. ok I have some very weird issue to report. I put my phone in Airplane mode when I went out of town. It wouldn't come out of Airplane mode no matter what I did. I thought maybe disabling lagfix would fix it. I disable lagfix, reboot, and now it's like I have a new phone without market and many other apps and the default wallpaper. All my apps icons show up with no image and you click on one and it says not installed. Most of these are on the SD card. I tried remounting. No avail. Anyone else had anything similar? My only nandroid is of 2.1. I really don't want to lose everything and have to go back. Why is it not recognizing apps, some internal, and some that are moved to SD card?

No, I've never heard of your problem..

I hope you've learned a VERY important lesson here though.. WHich is you should've done a backup when you had your phone how you wanted it...

but since you didn't..

Here's what I would do..

Make sure lagfix is DISABLED...

Reflash picknpack3 and then whatever add ons you need/want.. In my case I added them all back except for asphault demo/and the free android game app

If that doesn't work (hopefully it will and if it does do a Nandroid Backup)

Do a Factory Reset and either start over with 2.2 Odin or try the picknpack again!!!!

Thanks for the n00b lecture, but I already knew I should have had a 2.2 nandroid as well. I don't post a whole lot, but I've reflashed on my Hero and Galaxy so much it takes about 30mins to get the phone back like I want it starting from scratch with Titanium and such with my work computer. However, at 1:30 in the morning and being away from my normal computer, I didn't have all the resources available to reinstall everything quickly.... Hence the question if anyone else had seen something similar.

Anyway, even after getting it fixed (by starting from scratch with ODIN) I still had an issue later of the phone going back and sticking in Airplane mode. Searching the web it looks like the Galaxy has a bug where this can occur from time to time for several people. Since getting back in full coverage and reflashing (again) I haven't had anymore issues, but will update if I find the root cause. I'm suspecting it has something to do with the radio unable to register fully in bad coverage causing it to hang.

BTW Nandroid does NOT seem to work correctly between versions 2.1 and 2.2 unless you also reflash the voodoo kernel for DJ20 even if you had the Voodoo kernel in what you nandroided.

P.S. I'd love to volunteer to help with some development if I ever get some time. Granted I haven't developed for phones in about 7 years and haven't developed period in about 4 I think I could catch on fairly easily.

The 2.2 voodoo kernel Nandroid Recovery/Restore works perfect for me? Not sure what you're saying there, but glad to see you got your phone back working.. If you know linux, then there's def. a lot you can do.. Either way we're always happy to have a helping hand..

come by the IRC sometime #samsung-mesmerize channel

I think he's saying if you've flashed 2.2 and the EB11 voodoo kernel, you can't restore a nandroid backup of 2.1 without having to reflash the DJ20 voodoo kernel. Which sounds like standard procedure to me.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying. If you have 2.2 and flash EB11 voodoo, you will also have to reflash the DJ20 voodoo if you nandroid back to 2.1. Or at least that's the experience I had.

I'll be sure to come by and check it out. Linux programming isn't my strongsuit, but I've played around with the Android SDK enough to know my way around it. Most of my phone programming in the past was on the first generation RIM (Blackberry) devices.
