Switching off question

Hello, I tried to look this forum for similar cases but I did not come accross one, which makes me wonder if I am the only one to come accross this specificity.

Everytime I plug my phone for charging it, even if the phone is turned off it turns on the phone again. Is it normal? If yes doesn't it affect the quality of the charge? Is there a way to avoid it?

So many questions I know lol, I'd be thankful to have an answer though! Thanks!

If you are using a Custom-Rom like the 2.3.3 from mur4ik it is normal that the phone turns on when you plug usb in.

I guess the most efficient way to charge is then to put it in Airplaine mode, so the minimum amount of energy will be consumed while it is charging
