Default [Q] DS7 car charging with A/C adapter?

I haven't stopped by to make an introduction or anything but I am in the process of test driving a DS7 for a future "Androidputer" style install into my car.

One of the major hurdles I have come across is having the DS7 charge in the car while powered on. The typical cig lighter adapter tells the DS7 it is getting USB power and it will not charge.

I'm curious if something like this would solve that issue.

no need to! go to radio shack.. get a dc to usb adaptor...
this is the one i got and i can guarantee it will work:

it gives the enough current that the DS7 needs to charge. I currently charge my DS7 (media/gps puter) and my nexus s with that and it works perfectly fine!

Interesting. I have a different adapter of the same style and it didn't appear to charge.

Perhaps I didn't wait long enough. I'll give it another try, if not that will be my next purchase.

This is going to be hard mounted in my car permanently so car charging is a must.

if the adapter does not provide the necessary amps it will not charge. that's why the one i got works, because it gives out 2.5Amps. Most of the others give out only 1A. If you look on the power adapter for the DS7 you will see that it asks for 2A and 5V.
