Yup, that did the trick! 0.5.2.0 now working as designed! Thanks for such a speedy fix!

Question CM7 on u20i - Xperia Mini Pro
OK... I've spent a few hours trying to work this out, and getting absolutely nowhere!!!

I have an Xperia X10 mini Pro (model u20i) - I have tried following the wiki thread over at cyanogenmod to get up to CM7, with no joy - I can't get fastboot to recognise my phone....

So I tracked down flashtool, and, yup I was able to use the plugin to unlock the bootloader and now I am in flash mode.

Code:
29/015/2011 16:15:52 - INFO - <- This level is successfully initialized
29/015/2011 16:15:55 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
Now what?

I gather I need a ftf file to flash the kernel, but can't seem to find a known good one to do this with.

Where can I find a known good one? And then how do I use it?

(At a guess I click on the lightning, then click on flashmode, then choose the ftf file, but after that?)

Anybody help?

Red face
I will flash a whole stock ROM and find a RAR package with SIN and a XML file inside. Who get I now the FTF file? Another tool? A renamed ZIP file? And can I flash the whole ROM or must I flash one file after another?

EDIT: Okay, I found it out, its a ZIP or RAR file with metadata infos. I flash it and it worked! Yeah, I can boot again...

I think I have the same problem but unfortunately your hotfix doesn't fix it. Using Flashtool 0.5.2.0, I get this when I plug in the phone:

INFO - <- This level is successfully initialized
INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off

When I select 'check drivers' I get:
INFO - List of connected devices (Device Id) :
INFO - - USB\VID_0FCE&PID_3138\43423531314B59385359: OK
INFO - List of ADB devices :
INFO - List of fastboot devices

I've also run ggsetup-2.2.0.11 but that doesn't seem to help.

I don't think x10mini pro drivers are included with flashtool.

I can see the phone's SD card as normal in windows explorer.

Thanks for your help.

Edit: Works with 0.2.9.1

Is there any way to install CWM5 using this?

So far the only recovery available in Flashtool is 'xRecovery'. If anyone has the CMW recovery TAR file (compatible with x10 mini pro) then it could just be dropped into 'flashtool/devices/u20/recovery/CWM' folder

(Without installing a different kernel please - bootloader is unlocked but my current kernel has CWM3 and the latest kernels dont work properly with the installed ROM. I like the ROM.)

*EDIT

Experimenting with integrating CWM3 recovery introduced me to a world of pain.. it doesnt like it one bit. It corrupted the bootloader something terrible, flashtool would no longer flash the kernel (even though unlocked) and PC Companion refused to recognise the phone so couldnt repair it that way. Obviously, it was impossible to get into CWM.

Managed to find a copy of SEUS, after a few attempts it managed to restore to 2.1

Phone had to be re-rooted and ROM + Kernel could be restored from a backup...

Lesson learned!
