Default Restoring messages after reset

I flashed 2.9nv by doing a reset/wipe => pushing Stock EB01 Engineering build => pushing Stock EB01-root-CWM => then flashing SC 2.9.

Everything is great and clock lag and poor battery life are now fixed. But as I've been going through my phone I noticed that I had no messages (which I would expect given the reset/wipe). So I went into TiBU and restored data only for the Messaging app. I still didn't have my messages. Now I'm bummed I did this restore since I was trying to avoid any restores from TiBU's.

So I reinstalled an application that I had used when backing up to install 2.9 called SMS Backup & Restore and used that to restore my messages.

How are others restoring messages after a reset/data wipe?

I've been using that same program; works pretty well for me.

Restore the [SMS/MMS/APN] Dialer Storage in TiBU, and reboot the phone. Your msgs, should be restored.
