My new HTC Desire HD battery life

Hi, I recently brought a HTC Desire HD and my battery life only last a day.
Is there anything I could do to make the battery life last longer like two days? I dont no much about android phones but thanks in advance.

You could, but you would be taking the smart out of your smartphone.

Nothing much you can do with HTC Stock RUU (un-rooted). Atleast you can remove your HTC Sense account which helps you save some battery.

What is the HTC Sense account?

Turn WIFI off, use 2G only and of course as the screen uses the most juice, turn the brightness down to about 15%. You can find more tips by search the forums. Also check if anything other than screen uses more than 10% (with medium usage).

I can get 3 days with my DHD, but that's with minimal/ no usage.
2 days with some usage and 1 day with heavy usage.
I usually end up with about 20% left at the end of the day

The HTC sense account helps you find your device's location, wipe it or lock it if it's stolen from the internet (go to htc sense, log into your account <if you have one> and see what it does- you can do that from your pc)

on your phone you could disable the account from menu (all apps)>settings> accounts&sync>htc sense>remove account.

more, you can adjust the brightness at a lower value, a short display timeout (the display is the main power sucker) and you can also set a higher refresh rate for every account (menu (all apps)>settings>accounts&sync>open every account and change 'update schedule')
