Default [Q] samsung focus 7 - reset proximity sensor

how do i calibrate proximity sensor from the diagnostic menu. for samsung focus.

Basically my phones screen goes blank when i make a call and I have put my thumb on the proximity sensor to "wake" it up. I was reading somewhere that this could be "fixed" by resetting proximity sensor through diagnoistic menu. but i couldnt figure out how

Actually, the same thing happens on my Optimus 7. When I make a call, the screen goes blank, unless I have Bluetooth or headset attached. It takes a few seconds, or as you described a hand wave over the proximity sensor to bring back the screen.

Dunno if you got this answered but...

From the Diagnosis keypad, type *#0*#

Then tap toe Proximity button.

Default Issue with proximity sensor in Samsung focus sgh i917

I have the same problem. My LED screen broke recently and replaced it.

It looks like after the screen replacement, the phone's proximity sensor is always in detected mode [in the diag]. So when ever a phone is made or answered the LED screen goes blank disabling all functionality till the other person disconnects.
I ran the diag but it doesn't give me an option to calibrate the sensor. I tried to install the latest diag tool too but same results. There is only one button, "EXIT".

The diagnostic app version is .0628
OS version is 7.10.7720.68
Please help.

I know exactly how to fix your problem. I had the same issue! I replaced my Samsung Focus's LED screen, and exactly the same problem as yours! I tried everything here, but didn't work. I finally found the solution. When you take the old screen off your phone, there is 3M tape (black) between the two little sensor. That rips off with the old screen when you take it off. The one sensor shoots infra-red, which should not be detected by the sensor right next to it. so, when that black glue is not there, it senses it and shots the screen off. So, what i did, i took a tinny piece of sticky black rubber from that stuff that you fill the whole in your car tire when it's punctured, the tire fix kit, and put it between the two sensors, below the screen of course, and to my amazement, it now works!
try it and let me know if it worked! Make sure though that you don't cover the sensors with it. I'm sure it will work. hope you haven't spend more money to fix it and that I'm not too late to give you the solution.

Later!
