Default wifi connected yet keeps scanning.

Ive searched for threads on this but havent found any answers. Once connected to a strong wifi network, every 5 seconds or so it scans again. This causes downloads to fail bc its looking to obtain ip over and over. Is there a way to make it relax when its connected? I know its meant to keep looking for the best wifi to connect to but even in my house with wifi its kind of annoying i cant download bc its resetting itself. Thanks for any insight...

DONATE TO ME
I use sc2.8 and that seems to have a mod built into it that calms the scanner down, I think. Try flashing that rom.

The SuperClean ROM DOES slow the scanning frequency down a bit, however, when you have the wi-fi menu open, it will still scan every 5 seconds. It is not actually reconnecting you every 5 seconds anyways, just scanning for new networks. Maybe your wi-fi just sucks. Oh, and it has been verified, when the wi-fi menu is not up, it is NOT scanning every 5 seconds. GizmoDroid proved that to us.

Are you sure it's connecting? Or is just going thru connecting/disconnecting about every 5 seconds while you are in the WiFi settings screen?

I had the problem above with SC 2.9.1 and I fixed it by flashing EB01 Kernel over EB01 Kernel. Let me say it again I flashed EB01 kernel over EB01 Kernel and it fixed my problem. I did about 10 different installs using different packages to get to SC 2.9 without having to do this 'reflash'. Every time the kernel flash fixed it. So I finally just did the flash and moved on.

I guess i dont notice as much when the wifi settings arent open. When im trying to dl large files though it never seems to make it to the end before it drops connection and fails before reconnecting right away. Wifi signal is great in my house and in fact beyond my house. Im running sc 2.9.1 and nitrocomb, eb16 kernel. Ill watch in the near future how its acting. Thanks for your insight here folks.
