Default [Q] Is it possible to extract just sms from CWM backup?

Hi my phone messed up and was stuck on the boot screen so I made a CWM backup. When i restore the backup it gets stuck on the boot screen again.

However, I was wondering if it's possible to somehow extract my text messages from the backup file?

I hope someone can help..

I think that the sms messages are stored in /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db
Try unyaffs to extract the contents from the data partition made by cwm.
