Welcome!

The purpose of this thread is to provide a dedicated discussion area for Slim GApps so we can monitor and correct gapps-related issues more quickly before moving the packages from beta to stable, and also to provide users with the means to customize and build their own gapps packages from "source." Enjoy, and thanks for choosing Slim!

MULTI-DPI:
"multi-dpi" refers to the hacks that needed to be performed on several Google apps so that the Play Store would not omit search results. This only applies to users who change the lcd_density property in their build.prop to a nonstandard value. If you're not using a custom DPI, this does not apply to you.
To gain multi-dpi support, flash the MULTI_DPI add-on package over top of the (zero, mini, normal, full) gapps package of your choice.

Roll your own
Want to customize and build your own gapps packages? You've come to the right place!

1) download and install apache ant (http://ant.apache.org/) - if you're on windows, add apache ant's binary to your PATH string
2) clone the repo (https://github.com/dankoman30/slimlp_gapps)
Code:
you:~$ git clone https://github.com/dankoman30/slimlp_gapps.git
3) cd into the repo working directory
Code:
you:~$ cd slimlp_gapps
4) checkout the branch you want to build on (master is default branch)
Code:
you:~/slimlp_gapps$ git checkout master // for 5.0.x
you:~/slimlp_gapps$ git checkout lp5.1 // for 5.1.x
5) open up build.xml in a text editor and you can add (or remove) include/exclude lines to the filesets to customize the contents of your gapps builds as you see fit
Code:
you:~/slimlp_gapps$ nano build.xml
6) run ant from the command line, and the packages will start building
Code:
you:~/slimlp_gapps$ ant
7) flash and enjoy your custom gapps package! build(s) will be in the slimlp_gapps/build directory

I think those are in the ROM, not the Gapps.

Well the Exchange part has to be "shipped" with the device/rom but the Email part is now available through Play Store. It's newer version than the version that comes from AOSP, and it has some features that the AOSP version doesn't. UI also a little bit updated
