New LOS 12.1 for Z1c (amami) with May sec. patches

Hi all,

the next release of LOS 12.1 for Z1c (amami) with May 2017 sec. patches is available for download:

Regular build:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120734502

Build with microG-patch included:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=961840155545567579

Both builds include all relevant May security patches plus CVE-2017-0560 from the April patches, which was deferred in the previous release. Further, the LineageOS 'kernel su hide' patch is also included (for more information about this patch, please see here: https://www.lineageos.org/Changelog-9/ ).

As announced before, this is a joint effort of @derf elot, @Micha_Btz and myself. The build manifest and the forked repositories can be found at https://github.com/derfelot - the repository 'discussion' shows the work progress.

Doing this involves a fair amount of work, so we definitely welcome contributions, especially pull requests :)

Regards, M.

P.S.: We consider opening an own thread for this build - more to be announced soon.

Hi,
it sounds really good, that you keep this ROM alive with new security patches.

Do you also plan to update the kernel like in it was done in Jaguar ROM?

Our patching includes applying the relevant patches to the kernel, which are listed in the android security bulletins. If those patches are relevant for our 3.4 kernel (even if listed in 3.10 or 3.18 - but only if it fits into the code), we apply them. We are however no kernel experts, so there isn't any comprehensive and systematic / proactive porting from 3.10/3.18 kernel sources and hardening as announced for the Jaguar ROM.

Did you forget to merge some of those branches? I just did a build, and "Android security patch level" says April 5, 2017.

Oops, yes, I forgot 'android_build' (that's the version string) - did it now.
But that was the only one left. You can re-do your build w/o 'make clean', as nothing significant will change except for the version string, so the 'correction' will only take a couple of minutes hopefully . . .

hi how do i disable the multi window side app that keep opening when i slide on the right thank you

Hi not sure I've understood your point right:
- If you refer to the right "recent apps" on-screen button, that is a standard feature of android
- If you mean something different, could you please describe in detail, what you mean?

As announced above, please post any further topics in the dedicated thread of this ROM.

Regards, M.

I haven't seen activity in derfelot/discussion or the other repos for a month or so. Is the project still alive?
