I didnt realise it until now but.. After updating to kitkat I didnt see any options to shift to Android RunTime in the developers options. Am I missing something here ? all my searches have been inconclusive till now so I guess its best to ask here

It's silly if you think about it... I mean android is all about options, and sony is known to be much more developer friendly than the likes of samsung and HTC... sincerely waiting for custom ROMs ... though I dont think the T2 ultra will ever be a very popular phone.
