Okay so I bought a cheap leather 360 Swivel cover that comes with a flip cover. I was wondering if it can be made into a "smart" cover by putting magnets on side of it.

Yes Yes it is possible
I made a book cover for my Galaxy tab 2 7.0
You can make one for your device and add a magnet to it. It'll work for sure.

You can just put a magnet +- 1inch from the top left side of the screen.. did so with mine but ripped it off after a week coz didnt like carrying magnetic things

I have some Neodymium Magnets that I can use or are they too string. If they are can someone recommend which magnets to use?
