I tried it. Looks great and played smooth on Wi-Fi and LTE with no buffering.

Open You Tube and search 1440p, find a 1440p video and when the video starts, click settings and you should see a 1440 option under 1080. If not then you need the latest version of You Tube and can be downloaded from here.

All I see are 1080p options so far.
I have version 5.7.41 so I guess it's not the latest but nothing yet at the play store.

The latest updated is ver 5.9.0.10 If you don't have it, there's a link above to download the latest if you can't wait for play store.
