It is the s-off that is non existent as of current.

I never had any such app installed. Towelroot does NOT work on my Sense 6'ed VZW M7.

I just got my replacement m7 in the mail.

I am so glad I did not take the OTA .

Although, I cannot find the correct version of rumrunner to download....

Here are my specs Out Of the Box

Running Sense 5.5 . Android 4.4.2

Base band: 1.13.41.0109_2
Software Number: 3.11.605.1
Hboot: 1.56.00000

What is the best way to achieve s-off ? I had used rumrunner in the past, was a breeze.
They don't have a 3.11.605.1 verison tho...

Use Firewater/Weaksauce method and it should work I believe; that's what I did when I got my replacement back that was on the Sense 5.5 version.

You need to be rooted with Weaksauce to run firewater. Firewater will unlock/S-Off your device. Instructions I had in a text file copied from the Weaksauce thread, and firewater's site:

-------------------------------------------------WEAKSAUCE------------------------------------------------------------
Installation:
1. Install the WeakSauce app, run it hit agree.
2. Then install SuperSu from the market
3. Run firewater for S-Off
4. Uninstall Weaksauce after successful firewater run

-----------------------------------------------------------------------FIREWATER------------------------------------------------------------
Instructions (WeakSauce method - some m8 models and maybe others)

This method may allow firewater to work on a fully stock/htcdev locked device. This method is being provided as a convenience. It will work on verizon m8 variants and possibly some others.

Ensure device is booted to android with usb debugging enabled.
USB 2.0 ports are preferred.
You should not be connected using any hubs which may cause connectivity issues
Ensure that lock screen security is disabled on your device.
no passcode lock
no pattern lock
no face lock
Download firewater HERE
Download/install/follow WeakSauce instructions to gain temproot (thanks jcase!)
Push, Prepare, obtain root, and execute firewater:

adb reboot <--important!!!!
adb wait-for-device push firewater /data/local/tmp
adb shell
chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/firewater
su
/data/local/tmp/firewater

Agree to the terms and conditions you are prompted with
Allow the exploit to do its work.
Profit

After you have S-Off through Firewater, uninstall Weaksauce.

yea you need to push it to your device and let it do the magic.

You just need to use weaksauce to temp root (REMEMBER! - it takes 1-2 minutes with weaksauce before the temp root is achieved on each reboot) Take this into account when running the firewater command as you will want to wait and make sure that weaksauce is up and running and you are temp rooted.
Best of luck! - carngeX - posted a nice tutorial of information for you to save some time.
