I used towelroot and it worked just fine.. Now though.. I'm wondering if this new update to 4.4.2 is going to jack up my foxfi.. Last update took away the option to limit the tether users. If anyone could share that experience I'd be very appreciative.

As an alternative to FoxFi, WiFi Tether Router is working on G3. Simple install if you have root. The default settings appear correct for G3 -- just pick your SSID and password (for encrypted connections).

The 22 July release of it on play store has one minor bug that doesn't impact performance. The dev already came up with a fix, should be posting an update pretty soon.
