With a 5" (12.7 cm) screen, the Dell Streak tablet offers power and portability, while delivering the best internet browsing, portable navigation and social networking experience.

FAQ / how to

• What Android build is currently on the Phone? The Streak launched with Android 1.6 (Donut) and is upgradable to 2.2 (Froyo)
• How do I root my phone? See the flashing guide below.
• Can I use an iPod or Samsung Galaxy Tab cable with the phone? No, the iPod and Tab cables are different and not compatiable. Attempting to force them in will damage the phone and possibly the cable. The Streak's cable is a priopritary 30 pin connector
• Why is my touchscreen unresponsive? Placing the streak in your pocket with the screen facing your body generates a great deal of static interference, place it with the screen facing outwards to avoid this. If this still doesnt fix it a screen recalibration may fix it.
• My battery drains really quickly, even when I'm not using it. Make sure you don't have apps open in the background that constantly use data. Go to System -> Status -> Battery info and see what is using battery life.
• Why does the streak have a 30FPS frame rate limit? This is due to the HDMI out, as this is one of the outputs on the back of the official Dell Streak dock. The frame cap can be bypassed by installing a custom ROM.
• Does the Dell Streak have a FM-radio ? Yes, it can only be used with headphones as they act as the antenna. (availability dependent on rom)
• Why do my LEDs blink while my phone is on? Your baseband version and rom version no longer match. Stock ROMs check and complain if they dont match, either install a custom rom or reflash a stock rom pkg to fix.
• Will installing a retail/unbranded rom unlock my device? No, what rom is installed has no bearing on the lock status, the only exception is that it is recommended to be on a stock rom when unlocking the device with a unlock code.
• Will installing a carrier branded rom lock my device? No, for the same reasons as the previous question.
• Will installing a different region/carrier rom allow me to get 3G connectivity on it? No, the specific submodel (US/EU/AWS) is not determined by the rom, you cannot add/remove 3G freqs. from changing roms.
