Hacks & Tweaks:

lewcamino*: Disable 3G (Force GSM/Edge) Phone > Menu > Options > Band TAB > Select Network Type GSM. This is a great way to save battery if you need to. Your internet will be slow but it is a life saver when you forget to charge your device )

This was stumbled upon and is quite a find.

 # Go to http://text.dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1&more=1 on your device and click the 1MB test. Remember your result.
 # Now go to Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks > Change the top one from "My ISP" to "proxy"
 # Go back to http://text.dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1&more=1 on your device and click the 1MB test.
 # Now take some time to reflect on how much more you can accomplish in a day =)
 # This should also be the "Network Connection" when you use Internet Sharing for great speeds.

Flashing and ROMS:

Flashing a phone allows the user to customize every aspect of their experience and even "cook" their own ROMS to make their device be the same every time they hard reset.

There are two types of phones, GSM and CDMA. If your phone is from the US, it is probably CMDA. Otherwise it is most likely GSM. To flash a rom, first you need Hard SPL. Hard SPL according to the wiki: "This modified bootloader allows a much safer flashing process to take place since it reduces the chance of permenently bricking your HTC based device. It also removes the need to CID Unlock the device since it ALWAYS reports SuperCID when flashing." This basically means it allows you to use custom ROMS on your phone.
