Facts

3G Capability

The WING220 version only supports HSDPA/UMTS 3G over 2100Mhz, which is only used in Europe. Therefore, 3G is only functional in Europe; or other places where 2100Mhz is used for HSDPA/UMTS. Video conferencing is only available where a 3G connection is present.

The WING200 has been approved by the FTC and has 3G support for North America (850Mhz/1900Mhz).

It's unclear which radio chipset the S730 WING220 has, therefore it possibly has the proper radio chipset to support 850/1900Mhz 3G, and flashing the proper radio ROM version will allow for North American 3G on a WING220.

GPS Functionality

The current status of GPS functionality on the production ROM is: POSSIBLY FUNCTIONAL* (donate to JockyW2001) Presence of an internal SiRF StarIII chipset on all S730 models: Verified* Presence of antenna on internal SiRF StarIII chipset: Not Verified*
