Talk:HTC HD2/NexusHD2 ICS CM9 FAQ

tytung If anyone reads this thread regularly and can maintain a Q&A post, especially for the repeated questions. That will be great. Then I can link this Q&A post to my first post.

tytung NexusHD2-ICS-CM9 Q&A Please help maintain it. I will add it to the 1st post later.

geenyous The whole FAQ got deleted once again. Maybe I have to revise my idea of having an open doc, I think we'd rather have a closed doc but up and running than nothing at all as I can't check every other hour. I'd suggest the following users to admin the FAQ: tytung, bobjbain, uzi2, MarkAtHome, roloracer and myself (hope I haven't forgotten anybody who feels he belongs in this list too, if you feel you do, please speak up). What do you guys think?

Szczepanik Geenyous I have copied the doc into an XDA Wiki for you:
forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/NexusHD2_ICS_CM9_FAQ

The Wiki has several advantages:

  1. You have to be registered with XDA to edit
  2. ["http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=NexusHD2_ICS_CM9_FAQ&action=history Revision history] shows who changed what
  3. The syntax is pretty easy for updates - just copy what I have done
  4. Discussion page for contributors
  5. Visible to search engines - driving more users to download Tytung

If you like it - use it

tytungI didn't read this thread these days. Sad to see the bad thing happened.

The good thing is that you have created a wiki page (I see a wiki link in your signature). Thanks all of you (Geenyous, Szczepanik, TheManii, etc.) for creating and editing the FAQ wiki page. If I miss any contributors in the first post, please let me know. I have added this wiki to the first post to replace the original google doc.

Suggest that we do not put a question mark "?" at the end of any FAQ as that makes the URL link ugly - ending with ".3F"

http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD2/NexusHD2_ICS_CM9_FAQ#How_can_I_add_the_softkeys_to_this_ICS_ROM.3F

I'm neutral about it, best thing would be to reword it so it simply does not need a question mark, simply removing it isnt the best option (nor is simply leaving it) -TheManii 16:45, 30 January 2012 (CST)
Something like changing Where can I find CyanogenMod Settings? to How to find the CyanogenMod Settings might be the way to go -TheManii 16:47, 30 January 2012 (CST)
Yes I changed How can I run this ROM from Windows mobile 6.5? to How to run this ROM from SD / Windows mobile 6.5. Thank you Geenyous for fixing the URL I pasted quickly and late:-> It is good to see more people contributing - thank you Freionluc - Tom Szczepanik 17:17, 1 February 2012 (CST)

Date Suggestion: as the ROM changes, the date of a FAQ becomes more relevant, for example a new problem may have arisen or an old one been fixed in the latest version. I suggest we put the date in brackets at the end of the FAQ (19th May 2012)
Link Suggestion: If we then also put a link to the original post at the very end of the FAQ it will allow people to quickly see where the solution was proposed in relation to the whole thread and any particular release.
