Overview

The T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II is one of the phones to follow up to Samsung's widely successful Galaxy S lineup. This time, the Galaxy S2 raises all the stakes and Samsung has found a way to double almost every spec in a true, one of a kind sequel.

With a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED™ Plus screen, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 8MP rear camera/ 2MP front-facing camera, both 1080p recording and playback, NFC capabilities, great battery life and one of the thinnest phones on the globe, the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S IImis a welcome update to the Galaxy family. Superphones don't get much better than this.

Kernels

Kernels are the middle man between your devices software and hardware. Kernels are specific for some builds. If you use an AOSP ROM, you need an AOSP kernel. If you use TouchWiz then you need a TouchWiz kernel. With Samsung phones, the kernel also includes recovery. Not all kernels (or ROMs) have a custom recovery and therefore once they are flashed, you may lose the ability to flash or restore a ROM until a kernel with a custom recovery is flashed via ODIN or Heimdall. You may find a list of kernels for the Epic 4G Touch in this database.
