Acceptable pages

• Acceptable:
  • Smartphone pages
  • Tablet pages
  • Roms and other device specific files for smartphones and tablets

• Allowed:
  • Windows 7/8 tablets
  • Manufacturer specific UIs and software
  • Development related, non device specific pages

• Discouraged:
  • Windows 7/8 non-touch devices
  • General purpose software
  • Anything better covered elsewhere, such as it's Android marketplace

• Prohibited:
  • Anything otherwise not allowed on the xda forums

Device Naming Scheme

Devices Should be named as thus:

• Manufacturer Carrier Non-Specific Name (CDMA) (If applicable)
• If there is no non-specific name, use the model name if available, otherwise use the full carrier model name, minus the carrier itself
• The carrier should never be in the name
  • do: HTC Evo 3d 4G
  • dont: Sprint Evo 3d
  • do: Samsung Captivate
  • dont: At&t Captivate
  • do: Samsung SC-02B
  • dont: docomo SC-02B
• The page should also contain other device names (If applicable)
• Devices Should not use their internal model name as the title for the page
  • do: HTC Nexus One, also known as:
  • HTC Passion
  • HTC Dragon
• Avoid model numbers in the name, unless that is the only disgunishing difference
  • Example: Acer Iconia A100, Acer Iconia A500
• Shorten the manufacturer name when possible
  • Example: SE Xperia X10, BN Nook Color

Catagories in paraenesis should be filled in with their actual values

Criteria

• Files should be relevent to the wiki

    • Device diagrams and schematics
    • Manufacturer images
    • OS images
    • Properly labeled user images:
      • User-(username).jpg
  • Currently acceptable, but may change in future:
    • Rom/promo images
  • Not acceptable:
    • Anything not allowed on the forums.

File formats

• Preferred:
  • JPG
• Acceptable:

• Not acceptable:
  • BMP
  • GIF

Filenames

• Devices: use pre-generated names
• User images: User-(username).jpg
• Other files: As specific as possible
  • Good: Samsung Fascinate Battery door.jpg

  • Acceptable: Guide-Installing CWM Step 3.jpg
  • Acceptable: HD2 CM9 beta.jpg
  • Acceptable: Nexus One CWM Step 4.jpg

Special note on Rom screenshots

Rom/promo screenshots and images should have a link to the page they are used (preferrably the xda forum post)

Deletion policy

Images not properly labled, orpaned images, images that are not used on the wiki and do not have a link to an xda thread will be deleted!
