OK, I've got Ubuntu working on my w2. Sort of. 14.10 was released and the 3.16 kernel won't boot on our pipo w2 tablets. Also WiFi doesn't work, Bluetooth doesn't work, battery doesn't display %, auto screen rotation doesn't work. (Can manually rotate both the display screen and the touchscreen) suspend mode, reboot, and power functions don't work, cameras don't work, none of the buttons work, and I haven't tested the earphone jack
What DOES work: dual boot, (need a wired keyboard to select ubuntu or windows, but can have windows as default) 14.04.1 LTS Ubuntu varients. (14.04.1 is the long term support anyway). Touchscreen, display, and WiFi USB dongles. So it can function, but you have an annoying wire hanging off the side. And you can set it in landscape and still use it.
I'll post instructions on a new thread and link to that thread here, in case anyone wants to experiment. Also I've found WiFi drivers for our WiFi chip, but have a lot of google research before I can learn to compile them. So there is hope for the wifi
