How can i root and overclock this phone?

More like a custom kernel, or perhaps, maybe, if someone can code it, a special module.
This is actually the same answer given by people to the Tipo-Overclocking Discussion thread xD

Use the vengance kernal on an unlocked bootloader.use flash tool to install it.you can find the kernel in the development forum.it will overclock the xperia j to 1.3 ghz
