Well, but FTF is the package format used in Flashtool
. While updating through PC companion or Sony Update Service, large files are downloaded in some other format which are decrypted and repackaged as FTF, isn't it? Basically, it's the SIN files which are inside the FTF archives, and those FTFs are glorified
ZIP files unpackable by any standard ZIP utility, e.g. 7z.
Doesn't those custom kernels come in SIN format?
