Regarding if a phone is genuine or not

Hello, so I want to buy an Xperia U, second hand, and it's from another city, but it would come by courier, with the possibility to check it. The thing is, how can I tell if it's genuine or not? Any particular things I should check? I read a while back, if I remember correctly, I have to dial a special number, or am I going off-rails haha? Please let me know for things I should check, thank you!

If you know the person who is sending then ask the person for the imei of the phone. That's the unique code you code cross check for.

Yeah, I asked him for the IMEI and he provided me with it. What's a good site to check it on? Any other things I should check when it arrives? Thanks!

Just ask him the original stuff which came with the box. He would refuse for some of them. Just try to get whatever you can. Remember IMEI is the main stuff.
