I got mine just yesterday and the gps doesn't seem to work well either. I updated to the latest available to me on simfree and it's

6.0.B.3.184 ECO Jul 30, 2012

OK actually I think it does get better as you use it - it must store some temporary data. It first didn't work well, then took 43 seconds, now 18 seconds. That's OK with me!

GPS problem
My Xperia U seems to have the same issue...

The devices that came with the NovaThor U8500 chipset are experiencing this GPS problem. It is a hardware problem.

When I use the A-GPS function (using 3g data during the satellite search to calculate the distance of the device until the antennas making a triangulation) i can get signal much faster.

Unfortunately the GPS receiver of these devices is disappointing.

You're right. I can't help but noticed that most android devices that i've seen don't have satisfactory GPS experience. When i compare them to other phones this is the only area that lacks the most. Let's just hope for better in the future
