Hi, I am new in this forum. I have an Xperia Z (C6603) and I’m currently on FW 10.4.B.0.569. I am planning to install FXP CM11 but before unlocking the bootloader I would like to back up my TA partition. I understand that I will need root access for that. My question is whether I can use DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit by flashing back to KernelOnly 10.3.A.0.423 even so I currently have 10.4.B.0.569 or will I have to entirely downgrade the phone to 10.3.A.0.423 by using a full version (not KernelOnly)? Any hint will be much appreciated.
I was going to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/xper...3-1-0-t2386405 but after reading the instructions again, I guess the warning “THIS IS ONLY FOR THE XPERIA Z (C6602/3) FW 10.3.1.A.0.244 / 10.3.1.A.2.67!” stopped me and I thought I better ask.

the better way is to downgrade to 10.3.1.A.0.244 / 10.3.1.A.2.67 4.2.2 firmware, root it then backup TA,unlock bootloader & flash the CM11

Thanks for your reply. That's the safest way and that's what I finally did. Worked great.
