I got my xz from Australia Vodafone, everything is fine.
They actually provide a website for you to unlock the network lock.

Au vodafone only unlock phones purchased from au vodafone

Before i bought a motorala maxx from Verizon us via eBay.
According to the seller, he send an email to Verizon said he want to use his phone overseas.
Then the Verizon unlocked the phone.

As long as u r a current t mobile customer, u can ask them directly
