OK - you mean re-root, then re-install this ROM fresh (ie: wiping all data)?
I already had root and using Flashtool on a Mac was a bit troublesome. For example, it did not give me any options to wipe data. These boxes in flashtool were blank.

Also, the Gameloft app had never been installed on my phone. Looks like it was part of the ROM I downloaded.

Ah, OK. That will let me uninstall the rogue app. Thank you.

Out of curiosity, does the fact that it was installed on my phone suggest it came with the ROM that I downloaded from the link on XDA? I never installed this app and the fact that it is a system app is strange... Now thinking about it, doesn't make me feel most secure. Think I might try a diff ROM.

Thanks for help.

The rom is a stock rom, with the stock rom you get apps like that.

I've read or skimmed every post on this thread, so hopefully this response/question is not out of line.

I have a US/generic C6906 and I've had some luck installing custom roms (I'm presently running CM11 with Philz recovery). However, I'd like to dabble with the Sony experience a little bit, though I'm finding the FTF function less familiar than my experience allows.

I can't seem to find a non-modified FTF available for download (all the Mega links are broken for generic C6906 in the FTF mega collection), in order to start from a base rom as the OP requires. If I drill backward through the OP's OPs, bringing me to the 14.1.G.1.534 version FTF, but this one is labeled for a C6903. From my experience with Samsung phones, it's critical to install only ROM's indicated for the specific hardware I have. Is that the same with Sony? Furthermore, that file is still a customized "Nut" FTF, and not a stock Sony FTF.

I've read the post #32 which is very similar to mine, just from a different starting point.

Thanks in advance!

Hello, i've got this ROM since a long time ago, but now i should envoy my phone to the after-sales service to repair it because i have a problem with the battery, so i've got a question : can i revert back to the official stock rom (with flashtool) without risking some bootloops ?

Thank you
