Hi,

I had cm11 (based on 4.4) on my Z1 C6903.... and yesterday i want try this rom...
i read the entire 3d and then i do that:
download ROM and put it on my SD
download Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE.flashable.zip from here http://nut.xperia-files.com/ and put on my SD
download SUpersu from here http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu and put on my SD

then i follow the steps from a user post:
flash XZdualRecovery from cwm
reboot into cwm
Wipe cache/dalvik
flash ROM
Flash supersu
flash XZdualRecovery again
reboot.

after a long boot (10 minutes) it start and work fine.... embedded camera app work fine... (take pictures, but i can't change parameters like Mpixel or other)
Root privileges work fine... i can use a lot of app without problems...
only a problem in adaway that can't modify my host file... why? anyone has that problem? root work privileges fine..... why?

There is a problem with the included root in the ROM zip. It only partially roots, doesn't give you access to the system partition. Here's what you do:

I don't know if you were supposed to flash the xzdr zip in recovery. Go to recovery, wipe data factory reset, and flash the ROM again. Then download the executable for XZDR for your PC there should be a link somewhere. Turn on USB debugging, connect your phone to the PC and run the executable file. This should give you control over the system partition (Full root)

Somehow root won't work :(

I've wiped the cache, and installled the latest stable supersu = no root in Total Commander and no remount of system/etc.
Done the same with the latest Beta of SuperSU - still no root....

can it be that 5.1.1. doesn't have a way of full root? I just want those freaking ads away :(

i also have the unlocked bootloader but somehow root isn't working :(

Read my latest reply. It should fix root problems.

thanks for reply...
I know (now) the problem was my system folder not writable... maybe for a non full root permission (like you describe above)...
I found a workaround through a flashable zip to move the host file from "system" to another folder and make a symlink to new writable folder (here https://github.com/Free-Software-for-Android/AdAway/blob/master/symlink_hosts_to_data.zip)...
my problem is solved... maybe in the future i'll try to repeat the steps you suggest....
thank you...

Android 5.1.1 is released for our beloved Z1!!

C6903 is the o2 Version of Czech Republik, but i can confirm it is working for all (at least European) Models and Providers!
C6902 is Customized TW

Make sure you download the right Version for your Device!!

Pre-Rooted Firmware

Embedded SU is particularly broken!! After installation, !!! before reboot !!! simply flash latest superSU to get full root (or just have a look on how to install)

How to install:
  1. download
  2. save to SD
  3. reboot to recovery
  4. install
  5. wipe cache and dalvik
  6. flash latest Supersu
  7. reboot and enjoy!

NO WIPE NEEDED!!

Don't Forget to hit THANKS!! :)

P.S: For all the Optimists...
look at attachments

sorry for the stupid question, is there any option or process to follow to "NOT WIPE" or just follow instructions, also can you do a Singapore Generic version (not O2) if possible

There isn't not wipe, I wrote no wipe needed, means you can flash it right over your existent stock rom without loosing data.
That is completely unnecessary because this version is a generic with some o2 apps pre-installed which can easily deleted via a root Explorer or something!

Thanks mo120697 for the root :D

Everything was easily installed tho I had to search to find out why the Dual Recovery wasn't working (forgot to turn on debugging lol), flashing superSU now.

Will update with experience after a few hours of use but first impressions are being impressed by silky smoothness and convenience of controlling WiFi without opening the settings app.

update: Flashed xposed-v74-sdk21-arm.zip and installed XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk from http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=3034811. Everything seems to work
