Thanks for the heads up on ingress, had never heard of it before, it's like geocaching with attitude!

This is what i did when i got mine:

1) Just take a random photo, you've just got a 20.7mpixel camera phone damn it!!1
2) Root the damn thing, but keep it clean. Bootloader stays locked.
3) Unleash the Kraken! -> "Gently restored about 160 apps along with their data with Titanium Backup"
4) Shoot more random photos! JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN!
5) Explore its awesomeness and play with it until it drops battery-dead.
6) Charge it and go to sleep thinking what an awesome phone you have there.

* Find a better looking weather widget.
* Uninstall OR Disable useless apps.
* A better looking contacts app maybe...

1. Update to .314 stock rom.
2. Root.
3. Install Xposed.
4. Install Xposed modules:
a. GravityBox
b. Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons
c. Xperia Xposed (KK)
d. YouTube AdAway
e. Xposed Call Blocker
f. Disable Location Consent

^That's all I do. The stock rom is zippy enough for me. No need to install a custom recovery or rom. I never use stamina mode either. I just make sure no unnecessary processes are draining my battery.

I turned on the phone and went to play poker with friends :d
But as soon as I had time for the beauty, I backed up TA, flashed unbranded 314, rooted, xposed some, adfreed some, dual recovered the phone and I'm done. Just need to remove some bloat maybe. Had CM11 on my GS3 but damn, for now the Sony rom is so smooth and packed with nice features I don't want to lose them to install AOSP which is great and quick but boring in my opinion. Maybe in a year or a year and a half if Z2 doesn't get updates too quickly I will swap for Cyanogenmod.
Bootloader stays locked for now.

U need something physical to like the phone more - get yourself a good IMOS EX Corning tempered glass for the front and back, buy a Beyza Zero case, u will love it!

The IMOS glass is really impressive - I have no regret buying it though is a little pricey. I love my phone more after applying it and I am not kidding, it always look shining new the glass - reduced smudges and fingerprints, and one single wipe (not like other glasses) on your sleeve, all return to as new!

Cheers.
