For the sake of challanges: noticed that gps might turn off if the car home is in the background ( eg when making a call)

Regarding the media controls, I don't see why not, but I don't think you need a special module for that. I'm pretty sure you can create media key shortcuts (and if not, there must be already an app for that) - and in any case, once you have the statusbar pulldown enabled, you can do so from the notification (that's how I do it at least).
Hello again. I haven't been able to find a way to add media controls. There doesn't seem to be a way to add shortcuts to htc car mode. Love the module, but if anyone has ideas I would appreciate any suggestions.

Ok, I'll look into it.
It'll be a while before another update though - but it's on my list.
Code:

Apps are no longer closing on exit via both methods.

Seems like it has to do with how root handles Xposed packages, which isn't well.
Try the following and tell me if it works:
  1. In the module settings, turn off root method
  2. In your root app revoke root permissions to the Car Xposed module (remove them completely, don't select 'deny).
  3. Go back to the module settings and re-enable root method
  4. When prompted, allow the root to the module.
After that everything should be fine.
I'm not sure yet what broke it, but I recently upgraded my ROM and in the process had to disable/enable Xposed Framework which is the only thing I can think of.
Code:
/phone/model/:# HTC One M8 (S-OFF)
/phone/rom/:# MaximusHD | 6.0.1 | Android 4.4.3 (2.12.401.3)
/phone/recovery/:# TWRP 2.7.1.0 Touch Recovery
