They could have added these things easily, but didn't chose to do so because it would consume more power.
The matte back surface is purely based on taste
Well you are right on the perfect phone comment but having 32 GB of storage on a phone that doesn't officially support apps to SD card is essential in 2014.That can be said for the 3 GB of ram also if you want to be future proof.

The only thing that bothers me is that it doesn't have the IR-blaster. Why? Because I use it often on my s4 mini..

It's not that the phone doesn't support app to SD, you have to blame the OS for that. I've got no reason why they decided to remove that option, but ok, it's been gone for quite a while already.

There is no such thing as future proof when it comes to electronics. Once they bring out the Z3C, it will be outdated already, because this market moves so fast. With the Z1C they have proven that what they did was enough and that was just less then a year ago.

If you want future proof why not ask for a 64 bit processor and 4gb ram. In the end no matter what they do, the customer will never be 100% satisfied.

Lol.

IR would be awesome.

When root available... Xposed module unleashes SD card write access.
(This is an android is hindrance not the z3c... All 4.4.4 devices.)
