Can you show us command which you used? To flash twrp you should do:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

Remember to rename downloaded image to twrp

Why do you have space between recovery and img? Download image file, rename it only to twrp and flash it by using command:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

Is your operating system hiding the extension name, so twrp.img is becoming twrp.img.img?

Open command window on the folder (or navigate into it) and type(according to the operating system)-
Linux- ls
Windows- dir
And check the output.

It seems like basic thing, a bit nooby but can actually help.
Also if you have windows, verify that the icon of the file has a disc.
