Please use these settings to record calls on your LGE Nexus 5 Android 4.4:
- Record Mode: 1, 5 or 21
- Tune Special: No
- Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Change Audio Driver: Yes
- Start Input Stream: No

In most countries Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 can record calls perfectly, just use Record Mode 4 to record.

In some countries Samsung disabled the call recording feature (the caller's voice is very weak), please use following settings to record calls (no root needed):
- Record Mode: 4
- Tune Samsung 1: Yes
- Tune Samsung 2: Yes
- Tune Samsung 3: Test "Enable Group 1", "Enable Group 2", "Enable Group 3", "Enable Group 4" one by one
- Tune Special: Yes
If it still doesn't work, you should root the phone, use following settings to record calls (root needed):
- Record Mode: 4
- Tune Samsung 1: No
- Tune Samsung 2: No
- Tune Samsung 3: No
- Tune Special: Yes
- Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Change Audio Driver: No
Or use following settings to record calls (root needed):
- Record Mode: 21, 22, 23 or 24
- Tune Samsung 1: No
- Tune Samsung 2: No
- Tune Samsung 3: No
- Tune Special: Yes

Some old CM11 versions don't work well, because the built-in MediaServer seems unstable when record calls.

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Cyanogenmod CM11, please use Record Mode 22 to record calls, it works perfectly.

Boldbeast Recorder works well with Cyanogenmod Android 4.4.4 CM11 for almost all phones. Generally, following settings are suggested:
Record Mode: 21, 22, 23 or 24
- Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Change Audio Driver: Yes
- Start Input Stream: Yes (if visible)

If your phone has MSM7227, MSM7627, MSM7227A, MSM7627A, MSM7625, MSM7225, MSM7625A, MSM7225A, MSM8655, MSM8255, APQ8055, MSM7630, MSM7230, MSM8660, MSM8260 chip inside, following settings are suggested:
- Record Mode: 34, 33, 31 or 32
- Tune Special: test Yes and No one by one
- Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Change Audio Driver: Yes

We have no feedback about Galaxy S2 EPIC 4G (Sprint) so far. Please test following settings in Boldbeast Recorder to record calls:
- Record Mode: 4 or 1
- Tune Samsung 1: Yes
- Tune Samsung 2: Yes
- Tune Samsung 3: Test "Enable Group 1", "Enable Group 2", "Enable Group 3", "Enable Group 4" one by one
- Tune Special: Yes

Does it work well?
If not, this indicates Samsung disabled the call recording feature, it can't be fixed even if we use special recording parameters to record calls. In this case I believe no recorder works well without root , so you should root the phone then use following settings to record calls:
- Record Mode: 1
- Tune Samsung 1: No
- Tune Samsung 2: No
- Tune Samsung 3: No
- Tune Special: No
- Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Change Audio Driver: No

Or use following settings to record calls:
- Record Mode: 21, 22 or 23
- Tune Samsung 1: No
- Tune Samsung 2: No
- Tune Samsung 3: No
- Tune Special: Yes
- Change Audio Controls: No

Motorola disabled the call recording feature of Moto G XT1033. We checked the ROM of the phone, Motorola deleted several important parameters related to call recording, as a result no recorder can record calls in two directions without root.

Boldbeast Recorder can fix the problem after root the phone. Just enable the "Change Audio Controls" option in the app, then your phone records calls loudly and clearly in two directions. The "Change Audio Controls" option is visible only after you root your phone.

Changing audio route by the "Change Audio Controls" option needs root permission. Busybox can't help.

Yes, of course. You are welcome to post the test result of your phone (any phone) here, this will help other users.
Boldbeast Recorder has a large Fixing Database indside, we defined more than 30 parameters for every phone or every set of phones. If your phone doesn't work well, we can try to update the database to support your phone.

We have just released the new version Boldbeast Recorder V7.2.
LGE Nexus 4 Android 4.3, 4.4, 5.0 Lollipop all works perfectly (root is needed).
LGE Nexus 5 Android 4.4, 5.0 Lollipop all works perfectly (root is needed).
Motorola Nexus 6, we have no feedback from users so far. You are welcome to tell us your test result.

    Many Android phones can't record calls well, they usually have following recording problems:
    - Can't record calls.
    - Can record calls, but in recordings the sound of your side is very weak.
    - Can record calls, but in recordings the sound of the other side is very weak.
    - Can record calls, but during recording you can't hear the caller's voice.
    - Can record calls, but during recording the caller can't hear your voice.
    - Can record calls, but when you play back the recordings they sound like fast forwarding or fast rewinding.
    - Some other issues maybe.

    What is the reason? Even popular phones like Samsung Galaxy, HTC One, Sony Xperia, Motorola Moto G/Moto E/Moto X, LG-G5/G4/G3/G2, Nexus 6P/6/5X/5/4 etc have these problems also. We checked ROMs of hundred phones, some of them have bugs inside that cause these problems, but most commonly these problems are made by the manufacturer - the manufacturer purposely disabled the call recording feature. For example,
    - Samsung Galaxy S4 can't record calls in USA, but works very well in other countries.
    - Samsung Note 3 works very well with Android 4.3, but can't record calls after upgrade to Android 4.4.
    - LGE LG-G2 can't record calls with Android 4.3, but works very well after upgrade to Android 4.4.
    - HTC One can't record calls in many countries, but works very well in China.

    How to fix these recording problems? We found although the manufacturer disabled the call recording feature,
    - some phones are still able to record calls perfectly if the recorder app uses special recording parameters to record calls, no root needed.
    - some phones must root to fix these problems.

    We developed Boldbeast Call Recorder for Android, it has a large "Fixing Database" inside. The app works well for most phones in the market, we want to make it supporting more add more phones by adding parameters into the database.
