gmail was working fine but then, it got upgraded and it does not work anymore. Uninstalling updates fixes that.

whatsapp never worked in dark mode for me.

@Quinny899: any ideas on these two?

App developers can disable force dark if they're adding their own. This is the case for both of these apps.

Shouldn't they be doing that *after* they have code added to have native dark mode implemented?... jk...I get your point

They both already have code for it, it's just not activated for users yet. WhatsApp is internally testing it, and there's a dark mode flag for Gmail too.

@Quinny899 I noticed that on OG Pixel dark bootanimation doesn't turn on but the dark bootanimation is there in system/media. Is there anyway to enable it?
