Galaxy S6 works w/o APK installed

Hi,

I have a Galaxy S6 with FB and Messenger pre-installed.

I disabled Messenger via the Manage Applications tab, and still have access to chat in Facebook.
Just wanted to let you know, maybe this leads to a solution for newer FB version...

This issue has been reported several times. Could you tell us how you got FB chat working? Either by installing re-enabler app or by installing/freezing (older) messenger app. And which FB version and Android version you are running.

I just modified antaresone apps

change this:
minSdkVersion: '8'

to this:
minSdkVersion: '21'

Do notifications come in from Facebook app when you got a message or not ?

Actually I used the fb app posted here, the latest version of lollipop 5.1 and chat enabler installed after, I didn't have installed fb before.. I had installed a new rom

Try to download the Messenger v1.0 app, provided in this thread, uninstall the re-enabler app and install the Messenger v1.0 instead. Don't update it through Play Store, maybe even freeze it with Titanium Backup and try again.

Seems like messenger was re-implemented in the facebook app. It still won't work if you don't have messenger installed, but I froze messenger with Titanium and the in-app chat works perfectly.

Yup posted this a miilon times in this thread u can run the latest fb app with this method and it hasn't stopped working since they started this messagner req been doing it this way since day one

100% will work I've been using it for 2 months and never missed a message. It's the best think to do
Edit: just unsitall them both first if.you have them then fresh install Facebook and Messenger, after that freeze Messenger app and then login from Facebook app

Reading some post seems than on android 4.0-android 4.4 this works also wich facebook 33. While don't works with android 5.0+
Now seeing the apk files of facebook's app seems than api are changed from minapi14 to minapi21 on android 5.0+

I would like to try to install the android 4.0+ app (with minapi14) on android 5.0.1 and see if this works.
Can anybody send me the file on your phone? I can find only the alfa version (so bugged) not the stable of facebook v33 for android 4.0 send me a pm o upload here thanks.

Messages in this FB app working good .. Notification too.

Guys, if you still want to use facebook messenger from the facebook app without installing another annoying app to do the same that the main app does it before. Just download facebook lite from apk mirror and install it. 100% messenger working feature inside the app!!

Hello, my S3 (4.4.2) currently have FB v30.0.0.19.17 and Chat Re-Enabler works. The facebook app, however, is giving me problems and I thought maybe with the latest updates i could resolve. Could you tell me if it works with versions type v35.x
I ask because Chat Re-Enabler was written that worked for versions up to v27 facebook, but to me work with v30.

if you look at number version of file on apkmirror and the final version on Google play you see what I mean.

on apkmirror there isn't final version but alpha... last version on Google play is 34.0.0.43.267
on apkmirror last 34 version is 34.0.0.0.242 i suppose it's an alpha since the three Zero.
and it's the same for all versions they upload just alpha (the final 27 version you can find on first page isn't on apkmirror) at least for facebook.

Dude, i found a 33 version of facebook online, specifically version 33.0.0.45.19. I really don't know if it will work or will help you because of the version. If it works, let me know.
