Anyone else have duplicate notifications even after deleting mail from a homail account?
I get notified of new email, I delete the spam and then seconds later they re appear and new notification.

Is there any chance to change the profile picture of IMAP-accounts?
I have 4 mail-accounts set up on gmail and only my original Gmail-account has a profile pic. the others just have a pink circle with an M (for the first letter of the adress) and they all look the same.
If there is no regular way in the app: Maybe an xposed-module or a hack for rooted users?
If not: are there alternative apps?

How to install V1
Standalone installation
Download Gmail 5.0
Allow unknown sources goto settings->security and check unknown sources
Install and enjoy
Updating from previous version
Disable previous version of Gmail
Download Gmail 5.0
Install and Update
Installing as a system app
Download Gmail 5.0
Move PrebuiltGmail.apk to system/app and set its permissions
How to install V2
Clear cache of Gmail app and rename your old Gmail.apk to Gmail.apk.bak. In my case it was in SYSTEM/APP folder.
Rename old Exchange.apk and Email.apk to Exchange.apk.bak and Email.apk.bak. Those names can differ but should be similar.
Now copy here (SYSTEM/APP folder) the new Exchange3Google.apk and Email.apk and change their permissions to rw-r-r (like everything around)
Now go to DATA/APP folder and copy here com.google.android.gm-1.apk. Change permissions to rw-r-r
In SYSTEM folder find build.pro. Open it in editor. Find ro.build.type=user and change user to userdebug.
Save it and restart your phone.

wow featured, thanks to you all :laugh:6i got it working on my VZW HTC One M8.
renamed old gmail.apk
pushed/renamed new Gmail.apk
changed permissions
Then clicked on the app in Root Explorer and installed it --- this time it installs successfully.
Then I deleted all app cache and app data.
Changed the r.build.type=userdebug
saved.
reboot and profit.5
You have to install the Exchange services apk as well. It won't work without it. I have it installed on mine and it is working flawlessly. attached to this post.
