JioSecurity uses Symantec Mobile Insight as the engine, and in further tests of 1.0.1, it actually detects it.

Do you mean that your app launches the Google Voice Search Shortcut?

But when I launch the Google Voice Search, it launches the traditional voice search instead of Google Assistant.
And your app, using the same shortcut, launches Google Assistant. How?

Update: Your announcement says 1.0.3 stable is now available but in the OP is 1.0.2 as latest???

That's weird too, IMO. xD
Nova Launcher does the same thing, too. Just add a Nova Action > Voice Search.

Seems it's with the android.speech.action.WEB_SEARCH intent. Google App's Voice Search shortcut ( and the one on the search widget) possibly launches one of the com.google.android.handoff activities.

Refresh the thread. App info shows 1.0.2, my mistake.

I am still confused
Why does your app launch the Assistant while Nova and Google do not?

Nova does. Just add a shortcut, select Nova Actions, and select Voice Search. It works on mine, Nova Launcher 5.1 beta.

That's where I actually where I decided to find an app that can launch the same thing, see the code and the intents it will call, and yeah.

On my Nova 5.2 beta 2, it launches the traditional voice search.

And even after refreshing the thread, the announcement is for 1.0.2 stable version.

The announcement is actually supposed to show 1.0.2. I thought i modified the app tho show 1.0.3, my mistake.

Hmmm... weird. In Nova 5.1, it works.

I'm currently developing for an Android 5.1-based ROM, so I can't really try it out.

But I will try to do it when I have time.

I don't know much about announcements but can't you edit it to show 1.0.2?

That's right now, showing 1.0.2 as latest stable version.

BTW, how did it took an hour and 5 posts?
