I did remark in the release notes of the first stable release, that I will add IP-filtering if there is enough interest in NetGuard.
This would be an option with a warning that there will be more battery used and will reduce the network speed somehwat.
It would allow for some nice features though, like ad blocking, but also for device wide rules to block analytic services.
I did not follow this thread, I saw your remark afterwards.
As long as that can be toggled and the whole "VPN sinkhole" feature is not affected, host blocking is a nice thing to have.

Now that will bring some needed things for you to code: default lists, custom lists, whitelisting, auto-update. :)

You could to implement a small antivirus?

Sent from the space
Antivirus solutions require a team of researchers, but NetGuard is just a one man free and open source project, so this is not really possible. Adding bug free IP filtering for all protocols would already be a significant effort.

This application is awesome.
I basically use 360 Security to block connection through firewall which requires root access.
but this app is really really helpful and doesn't requires root access
I give 5 out of 5 to this app
Please rate in the Play store as well, since there is always a category of people rating low for the wrong reasons.

Maybe you can shorten your comment by removing the quote of the opening post.

I am not aware there are Android limitations, but you'll never know.

Can you please check if the issue persists with all internet access allowed? And just to be sure it is caused by using a VPN: check if the issue persists when NetGuard is disabled.

Please create an issue on GitHub about screen casting to remind me to look into it, if you can reproduce the issue with all internet access allowed.

I was able to Cast with NetGuard disabled, but I didn't try with everything allowed (all system apps were allowed though).

I'll try to find the time to get a bug report this weekend.

I'm not talking about any trademark/copyright issue, but unique name is always better.
Just my $0,05

Good luck!

Please report any problems you encounter.
