Of course it works. I tried on Marshmallow, Lollipop and Kitbag with three languages. Everywhere it did work properly.

I think Titanium Backup should do it
Just try it out.

if you only get troubles like not appearing in keyboards you need to do following:
Deleting following files:
Code:
data/app-lib/com.sonyericsson.textinput.uxp-1 or 2 (folder)
data/data/com.sonyericsson.textinput.uxp (folder)
data/dalvik-cache/data@app@com.sonyericsson.textinput.uxp-1 or 2.apk@classes.dex
data/dalvik-cache/system@app@com.sonyericsson.textinput.uxp-1 or 2.apk@classes.dex
system/lib/libswiftkeysdk-java.so
system/app/textinput.apk or
system/app/XperiaKeyboard.apk
