Hey, I am using vanced on my lg g6 with havoc os 2.8 magisk but having a issue that whenever i close YT it resets all settings i have done like dark theme, swipe options etc. Is there a bug in the lastest version or it's just me ?
I've discussed this issue with another user very recently (try searching for it, it's good practice) but we failed to determine a root cause. It does not happen on my device (video navigation works as expected) but does seem to be a problem for you guys. Thanks for reporting it. Perhaps Vanced team will take note of it (if they ever provide another update).Hi, in previous yt apps one could tap on the progress bar to skip backwards, forwards or go to any point in the video directly. In its previous update, yt had broken this feature.
Now yt has fixed it again with its latest update.
Could Vanced be please updated to the latest yt to fix the feature of tapping on the progress bar to go directly to a particular point in video?
Thanks.
I'm not sure what you're getting at but the latest version is like a hundred years old! Jokes aside, it should recall settings. If you're talking about the Magisk module, could you please repeat your problem in the Magisk module thread of Vanced? If not, reply here and mention some version information. Suddenly my build in YouTube app is enabling itself. I have disabled it 7 or 8 times. I am on Google Android one phone.
Is the source code for this app available anywhere? I'm hoping to at least update the code to work in my own device.
open source. can do whatever they please with it
Same here. Not rooted.Suddenly my build in YouTube app is enabling itself. I have disabled it 7 or 8 times. I am on Google Android one phone.
Happened with me too. YouTube and photos app was enabling itself. So I disabled many times and now they're disabled.Suddenly my build in YouTube app is enabling itself. I have disabled it 7 or 8 times. I am on Google Android one phone.
It's like watching a tennis match in here! "when's the next update?" - "update isn't needed!", "when's the next update?" - "update isn't needed!"... ping, pong, ping, pong. Let's agree to disagree already
My opinion: an update would be nice but our lives don't depend on it. My personal stance on the new advertising method: in the spirit of community and the much beloved Vanced YT, it is their moral goal to make an effort to eliminate any form of advertising within YT. To be very clear: that implies no obligations! Everything here is provided as-is. It's just what users could/would/will expect. I hate any form of ads but I do disable my adblocker(s) on websites/services which have content that is valuable to me. YT is an exception on that matter because, even though it provides valuable content, Big G is making Big B's with analytics on the side.

kurogami555;80215084 I was saying that whenever device is rebooted or a YT after ~1 hour my YT settings all reset them self BTW i am using YT v14.21.54 magisk module on lg g6 running Havoc v2.8 PiE[/QUOTE said:Just a suggestion - have you tried the non root version? You'll need to install the relevant version of microg then install the VYT.
If I'm not wrong, you should be able to run non root with rooted/Magisk VYT alongside since it's recognised as a separate app.
Just for comparison.
Apologies if you feel I'm sending you on a wild goose chase.
If you had used the search function you would have found out that Vanced is supposed to block ads on videos and that that home screen ad is a design issue, can't be fixed because this is a modded PROPRIETARY app and not based on source code, so you should blame Google for it and not the Vanced team.
Aah, ok... Thank you. Now I use Sudohide Xposed module succesfully to hide Vanced from Playstoremagisk/root have issues with occasionally being automatically updated to the latest unmodded youtube if not detached properly.
non-root has issues with some apps not recognizing it as a YouTube app and failing to open/play YouTube videos with it.
Can somebody explain me what are the advantages of Vanced Magisk version over the rootless one? As far as I know they have the same functionality. The only difference I know is that Magisk version has some problems with Google Play updates
So, I just intalled the rooted version and viola everything works fine no settings reset on reboot it just happens with magisk module onlykurogami555;80215084 I was saying that whenever device is rebooted or a YT after ~1 hour my YT settings all reset them self BTW i am using YT v14.21.54 magisk module on lg g6 running Havoc v2.8 PiE[/QUOTE said:Just a suggestion - have you tried the non root version?
