I have a related question: My screenshots are saved in .png format and it seems to be impossible to load them up to labs, I have to change the ending to .jpg in a file explorer. Would be nice if both formats were supported.
Sorry if this question has been answered before, I searched the thread but didn't find any answer, only issues with uploading both formats.

I have no issue with uploading png images, here is one png file attached.

Maybe your issue is more max size related? Size limit should be the same as on the xda website. Please check the size limit per file type in this post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/and...6/post75943095

You may be right, the png files are more than 500kb.
What makes me wonder is that the attached screenshot (changed the ending to .jpg) has a size of about 380kb which should be to big too (limit for png and jpg is 256 kB following XDA size limit).
Anyway, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sorry, wrong screenshot. This is the one with the file ending changed to .jpg.

Edit: The error message is kind of strange too:
" This JPEG image has the wrong file extension" regarding the fact that it's a PNG.

I'm wondering if that's just an error message issue, in other words, no matter the image type, it says JPEG. If so, it would be better to pull the extension from the name as a variable and input that into the error message.

Yup, the JPEG text seems to be hard coded and it would be better to set a variable for the extension indeed. Also blk_jack would need to add this error message (with the said suggested variable) on Crowdin since I can't find it in the strings to translate.

No issues uploading .png snip on XT1768. Stock 7.1.1; XDA Labs 1.1.6b.
