Because this functioning is not implemented in the app (yet?)

I believe that it only has the Telemetry that you can opt out of but, I could be wrong.

Lol - depends on your definition of spyware/trackers. It does communicate with the evil internet. Does that count?

Yes, you can opt out by toggling off Anonymous analytics in Settings.

TLDR; Anonymous stats and events to determine how the app is used and which sections see more traffic than others. No personally identifiable data is sent.

I don't track any crashes or bug reports via Flurry, for that I use an XDA hosted Sentry service that's again anonymous but DOES show me the device model/Android version.

I've never used the Play Store version of the XDA Labs myself but, I do believe that there's some (Google/Big Brother) required additions made that does have a few items that are not present on the XDA Labs obtained directly from XDA.

I'm not certain about what this exactly entails myself...

I get emails that say someone replied to me but no notification from xda labs app itself on my phone
