I would recommend using the GitHub version. You can then enable in settings notifications for when there's a new update. I find that the GitHub version is more current than the F-droid or the Google Play Store versions.F-Droid has FE updated to version 1.1900a.
Is there a functional difference between the playstore and f-droid versions?
Here is a replay from @M66B from yesterday that also applies to your question:F-Droid has FE updated to version 1.1900a.

Please see this FAQ for the details:

Would this then only apply to one contiguous mark or also to multiple non-contiguous marked parts? No, but it is an idea which I will give some thought.
It will be more flexible, but less easy to find.
You can find the change log here:F-Droid has FE updated to version 1.1900a.

It works like this with FairEmail too.In thunderbird, if you highlight some text and then hit "reply", only the highlighted text is included in the reply.
Mark as unread is not a common operation IMHO. Is there a reason why you are frequently marking messages unread? Can I add a Mark As Unread button to this menu? Only Mark As Read is selectable in the settings cog. View attachment 5626605
I am not sure if I understand the question, but you can try it yourself if you wish:Would this then only apply to one contiguous mark or also to multiple non-contiguous marked parts?
Ah, I see it seems that you can't make multiple marks on Android - so then of course only one (contiguous) mark remains possible.I am not sure if I understand the question, but you can try it yourself if you wish:

I use that for that too, but then just double tap on the particular mail - and that's it.Marking something unread is a quick way for me to set an email to be handled later.
Oh yeah! Working great. Thanks Marcel!
If you look at all options, you will automatically pass this setting ... ;-)Oh yeah! Working great. Thanks Marcel!
@fraschi51 thanks a lot too for the tip. I didn't know that worked like that.
Please make sure the right language is selected, both in the Android settings and the miscellaneous settings of the app.Help with date format please
Mails in folders are in DD/MM/YYYY format but we use MM/DD/YYYY.
I can't seem to find the setting for this. It's disconcerting while trying to go through sorted messages
I am on the latest Github version
Yes. That fixed itPlease make sure the right language is selected, both in the Android settings and the miscellaneous settings of the app.
Privacy Policy
All apps must post a privacy policy in both the designated field in Play Console and within the app itself. The privacy policy must, together with any in-app disclosures, comprehensively disclose how your app accesses, collects, uses, and shares user data, not limited by the data disclosed in the Data Safety section. This must include:
The entity (e.g., developer, company) named in the app’s Google Play listing must appear in the privacy policy or the app must be named in the privacy policy. Apps that do not access any personal and sensitive user data must still submit a privacy policy.
- developer information and a privacy point of contact or a mechanism to submit inquiries
- disclosing the types of personal and sensitive user data your app accesses, collects, uses, and shares; and any parties with which any personal or sensitive user data is shared
- secure data handling procedures for personal and sensitive user data
- the developer’s data retention and deletion policy
- clear labeling as a privacy policy (e.g., listed as “privacy policy” in title)
Please make sure your privacy policy is available on an active URL (no PDFs) and is non-editable.
