Hey peeps! If you own an Android device then definitely you would have installed WhatsApp on your device. The famous messaging application. So from a long time users has been waiting and asking for the Dual WhatsApp Support and indeed it is a great thing to have.
I finally got a bit of time to setup the thread and I'll be editing in continuously now.
It took me a long time to write all this so please read all this and then you can report the issues by tagging me with my username.
- What Are The Features In Both WhatsApps?
Well, both of the WhatsApps are the same in features.
- How Can It Run 2 WhatsApps?
The Normal Package named GBWAPlus is the one which is to replace your current Official WhatsApp.
It's actual package name is com.whatsapp, which is the same as the Official.
The Second Package named as GBWA Dual-WhatsApp is the one which will be installed completely as a separate WhatsApp.
It's actual package name is com.gbwhatsapp, which is modified to run the both packages at the same time.
- Where Will Be The Media And Data For Both WhatsApps Stored?
All the data, backups, images etc for the GBWAPlus (The Primary WhatsApp) will be stored in your internal storage under the folder WhatsApp
For the Second WhatsApp (GBWA Dual-WhatsApp) all the data will be stored in your internal storage under the folder GBWhatsApp.
This is to keep the data separate and avoid any confusions so you can have a whole peaceful experience of both WhatsApps.
- I Get A Signature Verification Error?
That is because you haven't uninstalled the Official WhatsApp and thus you can't overwrite it.
- I Uninstalled Official WhatsApp Properly But I Still Get That Error?
Some Devices, Specifically Samsung OEM has the WhatsApp installed in /system/vendor/apps
For example the Galaxy S6, S7, S8 or any other device which comes with WhatsApp preinstalled.
Even after uninstalling WhatsApp manually, it will still stay in the system/vendor partition thus colliding with GBWhatsApp installation.
For that, you will have to root your device and delete that WhatsApp app from the system/vendor and then you can install GBWhatsApp without any issues.
Note: If you don't want to root your device and still want to enjoy all of this then you can install the GBWA Dual-WhatsApp, it will not make any issues even if you don't uninstall the Official WhatsApp which came with the device.
Though, it will be your choice to uninstall the Official WhatsApp if you want to run a single number only!
- How To Install Updates?
Most of the times you just have to download the new update and flash it over the existing GBWhatsApp but with some updates the changes are huge and it requires a clean installation for better smoothness.
- What Does Clean Install Exactly Mean?
Well we are here on XDA and with all my roms I use the term Clean Flash which is quite common.
For WhatsApp Clean Installation I'll mention the steps.
First off all, Use any Browser and go to the WhatsApp folder in your internal storage or your primary storage that you use for file installation.
In here delete these folders if they exist.
Backup, Backups, cache, Databases.
^Why deleting Databases because that is Official WhatsApp Backup?
Well Because everyday WhatsApp backups gets overwritten and it creates a lot of decrypted backups which sometimes result in restoration failure.
- Now Open Your WhatsApp And Go To The Settings.
Proceed To The Chats, Here select Back up chats
It will generate a backup of all your chats, it may take some minutes if your chat list in hugeeeeee.
Once the backup is successful, go to Settings of your device and clear data for WhatsApp.
Uninstall the WhatsApp. Now install the latest update of WhatsApp which you downloaded.
Install this update cleanly and setup your WhatsApp by entering your numbering,
You will get a prompt for Restoring Your Backup, Just select Restore if you want to restore all your previous chats.

Hi guys, unfortunately the update of second WhatsApp extension will be delayed. I've worked on the first one and it is ready. It's 2:20 AM here and I gotta wake up early tomorrow so I'll update the secondary WhatsApp tomorrow.
