Hey, can you confirm if this version works on the Amazon Firestick? It seems to not load the guide saying to please wait.

Sorry, no idea. I don't have a Fire Stick, I used my Shield TV.

Did this break for anyone else?

Start up the app - ver 5.1.5.014 on Nvidia shield
App's landing screen has show info, but does not load any images.
Go to live TV listings. Listings are current, but when I select a stream, the the dots just keep blinking. The stream never starts.
Clear cache and app data - no luck. I can log in, but none of the live streams ever start.

Help!

Holy heck...
Sorry, I lied. Today my Nvidia shield had an update (as well as the controller). Once updated, I'm able to stream again.

Crisis averted!

How exactly is the APK modified to get rid of the HDMI check?
Do we modify an xml file?
Can you help out?
I'd like to use the latest v544006 stream APK on my Android TV.
Anyone able to give some instruction?

Edit::: https://drive.google.com/file/d/100i...w?usp=drivesdk
The above link points to a .txt file created by DiffTool from the play store comparing a modified APK v an original APK from apkmirror.
It seems there's much more to be done to modify the stream app than just removing the HDMI check. Oh man!
Further edit --- DiffTool from the play store has color coding.

It's more than modifying an xml file, but it's not that complicated. Just the usual:
- decompile to smali
- edit the file that does the HDMI check
- recompile / package to apk / sign
- load to device
- watch tv
There's guides all over the forum to do these things.

The reason they don't allow HDMI is because Xfinity has some antiquated license model from the providers. They license per-TV instead of per stream or household or whatever. So if you have HDMI they assume it's a TV so they need to get license money from you so they can pay the providers. They get around this with the Roku app because it's technically still in beta (and has been for years I think).

And, as someone mentioned earlier, they changed a library they use in the APK to something different a couple of versions back. It now runs much slower on AFTV than v533 or somewhere around there. I don't know why it's slower on the FTV, but it's still quite zippy on my phone.
