On update - I'm using the 6050a which currently has kk. I managed to capture the ota from the tool and I'm gonna try releasing a zip for 6050y (AFAIK the hardware is the same, so should work fine if build.prop is edited accordingly. )

How much time do you think it will take to make the zip ?

Anyone know how I would be able to modify the OTA of the 6050a (when it will be posted) in order to have a vanilla Android?

I do not think that at all possible. The OTA method request to a remote server by validating of your model using the buiild.prop file. Edit your build.prop will not bring anything new to your phone or what can be dangerous: The update will not work with your hardware and finally you get a softbrick.

If you really want an Android Vanilla then you have to use an SDK and put your hardware drivers to the original ROM.

Anyone try the mobile upgrade program?

I started it about 2 hours ago and it hasn't even downloaded 50% of the required files. The download speed has been stuck at 0 KB/s for about 10 minutes. The highest speed I say was only 20 KB/s. Is Alcatel using 8088 computers?

Edit: After 12 hours, it finally downloaded and installed. It took my rooted system back to completely stock 4.4.2 which is good to know if I need to return to stock for warranty.

If you have the factory version 4.4.2, I ask you please submit your build.prop file to use as a reference and install Kitkat on my phone.
